Today Hubby and I pulled up a bench and watched the guys working in the other basin.
I have always been fascinated by heavy hydraulics, and watching this crew at work was well worth getting chilled to the bone and a sore backside.

My Nikon camera has a video on it, but because we had a chip problem with the existing 16gb, I only had limited memory of 2gb, so had to be pretty sparing and selective with my shots, especially as I had other stuff on it that I hadn’t downloaded yet.
I got loads of stills though.
The way the crane buckets were used to nudge things into position reminded me of new mothers with foals encouraging them to stand. The skill was phenomenal, and the team good-natured in not minding us as an attentive audience (doughnuts will be delivered to them tomorrow).

Tomorrow the piling begins, which will take about four weeks. Gonna be a bit noisy!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and have a terrible sweet tooth for jelly babies or fruit pastilles. Best friends are Hubby, our dog Maggie, Bro in NZ, MSM and MOH (and his dog). I am also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we were once again house hunting until September. We now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.

Great captures! The workmen really know what they’re doing. You could so easily imagine this turning into one of those Youtube wonders – where the crane tips up into the water! πŸ™‚ They sure earned their donuts. πŸ˜‰

  2. Oh, I could watch construction all day – if it was the place I lived, I could probably watch it all night, too.
