I had a really busy day at the keyboard yesterday, putting out seven, yes seven, posts on a variety of subjects so I hope you didn’t get too fed up with me!
That’s the trouble when it’s a horrible day outside and we stay on the boat for the duration apart from taking Maggie out for a wee in between showers or torrential downpours, what to do with my time.
In the cottage, I would sit at the piano and play for a couple of hours, or I’d have a baking session or make some cards. There was always the option of sticking on a DVD, or reading too, and those are probably the only things I could do here as I no longer have my piano, don’t batch bake anymore, and making cards can be a bit of a game as practically everything has to be moved to get my box out and set the table up.
Saying that though I did make some this week and was very pleased with my efforts.
Mainly though I have a choice of eating, reading or writing.
Eating I try to avoid at all times except meal times and the preparation thereof (and no, that is not every five minutes!), reading is something I can’t put my mind to during the day but can curl up with a book at night for an hour, and writing, well, if it’s not a letter to my Mum, it’s entries for my blog.
I was on a roll yesterday and had lots of ideas for posts. I’ve been doing loads of challenges and prompts lately too which I find great fun, especially when I’m limited to word count or even characters! It makes me think and I like to throw in something unexpected.
There are other days when I’m really stumped for something to write about, which is when the challenges come into their own and I can put two or three out in one day.
I get inspiration from those I regularly follow and enjoy the interaction via comments both on my blog and theirs.
We have plans to do some work on the boat next week with Hubby modifying our bed frame to allow better air circulation underneath. We have been sensible by vacuum sealing our clothes and storing them in containers, but condensation has raised its ugly head so we are doing something about it.
We had an enquiry about the cooker yesterday too, so if that comes to fruition, as soon as it’s gone, we can start on the kitchen which will free up valuable space in the shower cupboard which is where we’re storing our new combi sink and double burner!
It’s going to be a busy time but I’ll be posting about our progress as we go along!
Good luck – big jobs…
To be honest, we can’t wait to get started, but this lousy weather doesn’t help as we’ll have to put stuff out on the bow while we’re working . Still, we’ll get there.
Well yes, I was a bit miffed bout why all that stuff was filling up my email box, you were not the only culprit., but now, I’ll know its just pensitivity filling up a boring space in her life, so feel free, lol.
Sorry about that, but I was on a roll! It doesn’t happen a lot, honest!
