It wasn’t the first time she’d gone on a blind date,  but it was the first time she’d used a computer dating agency.
She was nervous, but agreed to meet him in a car lot on top of the supermarket. It was easy enough to find, a public place, and if she didn’t like the look of him or had second thoughts, she could drive away.
In the end, she didn’t have to decide, having waited over an hour and he didn’t show.
She went home disappointed, unknowing he was on the next floor completely baffled as there wasn’t a car in sight.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and have a terrible sweet tooth for jelly babies or fruit pastilles. Best friends are Hubby, our dog Maggie, Bro in NZ, MSM and MOH (and his dog). I am also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we were once again house hunting until September. We now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.

  1. Sad misunderstanding. Nicely written.

i read this and thought about timing in our lives, so often we miss people, opportunities because of timing, of course miscommunication and wrong information may also play a part in your piece here, but I do think sometimes its just not the right time for something to happen, enjoyed the story very much for the feeling it gave me. Thank you.
