I’m still catching up on my challenges!
This is this week’s three in one:
Almost Free on the Fives: write a five line free verse with a total count of 25 words.
Forget your stupid vertigo!
Just get up here and see,
You can always take the lower one,
You won’t regret it, believe me.
Shadorma: a non-rhyming, six line poem with the following syllable count: 3/5/3/3/7/5. It can consist of one or multiple stanzas.
Use the theme: journey, or the photo, as your inspiration.
My theme is the journey from one life to the next.
Time to go,
Your journey beckons,
Don’t look back,
He’s not there,
But waiting for you ahead,
Just cross the threshold.
And finally my short story:
Person: Bartender Place : Resort Hotel Object: Bra
The management had taken him on and he now held a key position in the Residential Cocktail Lounge.
He just needed to invent a Signature Cocktail and the world would be his oyster.
He spied her across the room, the trophy wife always making sly innuendos out of earshot of her sugar daddy husband.
Her dress, or lack of it, consisted of a bejewelled brassiere under a transparent chiffon haze leaving nothing to the imagination.
Making professional small talk, he threw a shot of half a dozen spirits into a shaker, added ice and a slither of mint, then shook it expertly.
Coating the rim of a cocktail glass with sugar and lemon juice, he poured the frothy concoction over 2 olives and watched it bubble.
‘Wow! This packs a kick. What do you call it?
‘Storm in a D Cup’ he replied with a straight face.
