It is hard to believe that today is the last Saturday in January. It doesn’t seem five minutes since we were looking forward to welcoming in the New Year on a Saturday night.
I just hope there won’t be loads of fireworks going off later.
Last year was the Chinese Year of the Monkey.
I am a Taurean Monkey, and confess for me 2016 was quite a year one way or another.
Today, January 28th, we enter the Year of the Rooster.
It will be a long year as it’s not due to end until February 15th 2018.
These are the traits of The Rooster:
Honest, energetic, intelligent, flamboyant, flexible, diverse, confident.
And before some of you ask, President Trump is not a Rooster.
Born in June 1946 makes him a Dog.

As an aside, according to their compatibility test, Hubby and I are classed as 50% average and our relationship unlikely to last.
We’ve been together almost 28 years, so make of that what you will!

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Yup……….. February next week …… and no snow in S. Ontario! Trump take note!
We had a little flurry last week, and earlier today had hail stones. It’s getting colder over here. 🙂
Paul and I were born in the same year and same month, and he is technically a different animal than me. My parents are the same year, many months apart, and also different animals. I actually never thought of that before, but I would guess Chinese fortune telling would say something about that.
It’s an interesting subject, and I so wish I still had the book on all the combinations etc which I loaned to a friend and never got back.
It would be fascinating to see. I bet there is somewhere online that could be helpful. It seems you can find virtually everything online somewhere!
I’ve never been one to follow the star signs, but some are quite interesting in their interpretation of various partnerships.
