We conned Maggie last night into an early bed time.
Our logic was that if we were all tucked up in bed when the fireworks started, she may not become quite so distressed as we would be together in darkness.
Sometimes this works with thunder and she will stay tight to me as she shakes.
It didn’t happen.
We were awoken by the sound of rain, which has continued through the night, and to be honest, I couldn’t be bothered to get out of my warm cosy bed with a contented Hubby and Maggie either side giving it buzz saw ZZzzzzs to find out what the time was.
There were no fireworks afterall last night.
If it was down to the weather, I bet they wished they’d had their display at 8pm.

I bet you’re glad the fireworks didn’t happen!!
If they did, we missed them as they were so quiet, and Maggie didn’t stir at all until about 5 this morning, so they must’ve cancelled. On a serious note though, I hope it wasn’t because the birthday person had been taken ill.
I’m sure it must have been the weather… no one wants to stand in the wet, looking good upwards!
Mother Nature to the rescue! Stop those insensitive humans from frightening all the animals!
Does seem a bit like poetic justice! I hope it doesn’t mean a postponement though, or if so, they decided to have it earlier.
I wondered about a postponement myself and maybe without notice.
Unless our friends saw it and passed it on, we wouldn’t know. Time will tell.
Poor Maggie.
