It’s beginning to look a lot light Christmas

I’m working this post backwards by doing the narrative before the system crashes and adding my photographs at the end.

We have put our dekkies up today! Yeah!! Christmas has arrived on the boat!
Hubby fished out our Christmas in a Bag from under the bench, and stripped out little tree which had become slightly squished. Threads on baubles had disintegrated and so had to be replaced, but the 20 lights still worked, as did the battery ones we’ve put on the helm.
The tree having been redressed, we’ve added a bit of extra colour too.

Yesterday we saw an adorable Santa with a hinged message :
‘I’ve been good, more presents please’ on one side and
‘I’ve been naughty, but I can explain…..’ on the other.
We were so taken with it, we bought one for the back of our boat and one for our friend across the way as it was just so ‘Her’.
We also found a solar-powered nodding reindeer for the car, and again bought one for the same friend.reindeerI tell ya, Christmas ain’t just for kids you know!

The inside of the boat is looking very festive with lights, tinsel, cards on string and of course our cute little tree sitting on the cooker as usual.
This year, we also have a tree OUTSIDE (slightly bigger than the one my niece made for us all those years ago) and Fred is looking rather suave and sophisticated with a fuchsia tinsel scarf to match as he keeps watch (sort of). I will take a front view picture of him tomorrow.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and have a terrible sweet tooth for jelly babies or fruit pastilles. Best friends are Hubby, our dog Maggie, Bro in NZ, MSM and MOH (and his dog). I am also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we were once again house hunting until September. We now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.
