Thursday photo prompt – Smoke #writephoto

Once again Sue gives us an image which sends the viewer’s mind off in all kinds of directions.
I’m looking forward to some interesting reading on this one!

writephoto logophotoprompt-8th-decemberIt was time to hide.
They were after her and she couldn’t shake them.
There!
The gap in the rock face.
She could squeeze through.
No! No! No!
She was too big!
They were going to catch her.
They were upon her.
She knew she was going to die.

‘Have faith,’ a gentle voice said as it drifted from inside.
Her entire being began to glow in the silver light, transforming her in its hazy elegance.
Floating through space, she was raised on wispy tendrils to become one with the mystic smoke.
‘You are the last’, said the voice. ‘They are all here, waiting.’
As she looked beyond into the cavity, they were indeed there, clearly defined in the golden magical mist of the Spirit World. Waiting.
Unicorns.
All of them.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and have a terrible sweet tooth for jelly babies or fruit pastilles. Best friends are Hubby, our dog Maggie, Bro in NZ, MSM and MOH (and his dog). I am also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we were once again house hunting until September. We now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.
