Microfiction challenge #17: A satisfied couple

From Jane Dougherty this week:

The title of this week’s image is in German so I could be completely wrong when I translate it roughly as ‘On the way to church’.

You can check out the original post here

I must admit I think Jane’s title suits it better.

microfiction-satisfied-couple‘What time is it?’ Rupert asked.
‘Seven o’clock.’
‘Nothing’s here!’
‘According to this’, Anton said waving the piece of paper in his friend’s face,  ‘our ride will arrive at 7.05 pm and drop us directly at his door’.
‘But there’s NOTHING here!’

Looking into the distance, Anton said,
‘Here it comes. Bang on time too, the 7.05 bus to George Street‘.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. I think you’re right, there’s nothing very deep going on in their heads 🙂

  2. colinandray says:

“Why is that woman pointing a camera at us?”
“Just pretend you haven’t seen her Anna.”
“But Klaus, I have, and it’s disconcerting.”
“Just look away Anna. It’s the best thing to do.”
    “But why Klaus?”
“She’s one of those boat people. She lives on the river.”
“Oh… poor thing… one of those! Now I understand!”

  3. Michael says:

I think that’s a very clever response to the image, well done, waiting for a bus, who’d a thought….lol
