It has been a Weekus Orribilus here and I confess that I had an ‘Off Day’ on Friday, this being Off the Plan, Off fruit and veg, and sensible eating habits were Off the menu.
In truth, my mind was on other things and playing scrabble in the evening, I was constantly snacking, so I am fully expecting a gain this week through no-one’s fault but my own.
The price of fruit is rocketing in the shops, and that which is sensibly priced is either smaller or of lesser quality. Salad stuff is also on the
slime decline, and so I’m looking for alternatives rather than buy produce that I’m only going to throw away the day after it’s been opened. The problem is it’s a balancing act on cost, and I’ll have to get my thinking cap on to make the budget stretch and feed us for the week.
It’s becoming the norm for stews and rabbit snares to be mentioned in the same sentence.
Typically, when I didn’t want it, pork mince was only a pound a pack, but when I decided to do a pork chilli, it was nowhere to be found on the shelf.
We opted for chicken again as at least the price is stable. We’d already had curry, so it was the turn of a sweet and sour, and with the addition of peppers, it made a tasty dinner packed with speed food rather than having it on the side.
With the colder weather, we’ll need more fuel (aka food) but to be honest, my heart’s not in it just now, and I feel I am just going through the motions.
Inches (or centimeters to be more accurate) are reducing though as my rings keep sliding off, my watch is spinning on my wrist and my trousers keep slipping, even when I’m not breathing in!!
Looking at my legs getting out of bed one morning, the calf and thigh muscles seem more defined, so my body shape is changing again as it tones up. If nothing else, at least I am still getting plenty of walks in. I’ve walked about 16 miles this week.
So, how did I do?
Sad or Glad? Grief or Relief? Hang my head, or bang on the drum of success?
Surprisingly, I had a small loss of half a pound this week, making a total now of 30lbs in 17 weeks. C also lost half a pound and N lost a pound. So a very positive night for all three of us.
Hopefully I will get my act and head together and have a better loss next week, but for now, I’m pleased with the one I had.
