What a contrast in weather since Friday!
We’ve had thunder and heavy showers, and the sky is overcast, but it is still oppressively hot and stuffy aboard.
Out on the river was so different. We’d kept the canopy up to give us some protection from the sun, but it was a glorious journey home.
These are some of the shots I took while we were away. I hope you enjoy them.
We mustn’t forget that glorious sunset on night one:
Hubby took these the following morning………they could be paintings:
And this is a classic narrowboat shot shortly afterwards.
Two sets of swans came calling for a late breakfast (different rings numbers):
And these cuties were adorable:
Passing traffic on our lazy afternoon:
And these are views (ahead and
behind astern) on the trip home:
Beautiful, isn’t it?
Very nice! Thanks for sharing! I am sure seeing this beauty around you puts smiles on your faces. Love the swans,
I love swans, and it is lovely when the family with five growing cygnets come into our basin close to our boat.
Loved pic 2 & 3 (from the top).
Your pics terminology needs adjusting! The view “ahead” is fine, but the view “behind” is oh so not fine. The view “astern” would be much better! 🙂
Ha, good point. Will rectify!
🙂
Gorgeous pictures – looks like a fantastic trip!
Thanks Sarah. It was lovely to get away for a couple of days.
You are right, those could very well be paintings!
beautiful aren’t they. Really captured the essence of the moment.
Totally!
