Sunday walk………… how far???

It’s been a long day, and my knee is hurting but I’m loathe to reach for the painkillers as I’ve done so well these past two weeks.
no crutchesI’ve just taken Maggie up for another wee and I’ve worked out why I’m ‘feeling it’.

06.00 hr         walked dog round the Avenue             1 mile
06.30 hr         up to shower block                              ¼ mile
07.15  hr         walk dog along dog walk                    ½ mile
10.00 hr         walk to supermarket                             2 miles
14.00 hr          walk dog to car park                            ¼ mile
15.30 hr          rubbish run incl dog walk                  ½  mile
16.45 hr          escort MSM to gate after visit      ¼-½ mile
18.30 hr          walk dog to car park                            ¼ mile
20.25 hr          walk dog to car park                            ¼ mile

That’s over five miles today, and there’s still the final wee to go!
No wonder I’m exhausted!
fed upIf I don’t lose those two pounds this week, I think I’ll cry!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Wow you are GOOD. I couldn’t do five miles, I don’t think. But now that school is starting, I’ll be running all over the building, so hopefully that will help. No wonder you’re sore!

    • We walk the dog up to the dog walk/car park at least four times a day for her to do her business, so if you add the avenue, that’s a minimum of 2 miles a day. I don’t think I could manage five miles all in one go (and probably neither could she) but when you add it all up, it’s surprising just how far it all is!
