“Showers can be expected”

That’s what the experts said yesterday.
Right.

‘It’s too hot. I wish it would rain!’ Hubby said in all innocence.
Well, it did and still is………..raining that is, and has been since last night.

OK, it was nice to hear the pitter patter on the boat roof as it cooled the metal down and help to relieve the stuffiness within as we drifted off to sleep.

Yes, it was good to see the grass has turned from yellow patchiness to lush green on the dog walk this morning.

True, it’s better that the water level had risen almost half a meter, still keeping well within the green safety zone for boating whilst taking us out of the shallows.

BUT walking a soggy doggy in soggy joggys is not my idea of fun!

And the wind?

Ha! How does 50 mph grab you?

Retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination, loves to cook, favourite food everything especially chocolate and jelly babies. Best friends are Hubby and Dog, Bro, MSM and our Dominoes Friend aka MOH (and his dog). Also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours but times change and we are once again house hunting.

We have gales, here in Cumbria, too!

    • A-ha, so you’re picking up some of the bad weather too, if not more of it. Hope all is OK with you and yours.

We’re okay, thank you. Hatches battened, as are yours I would imagine! Trees are bending in the winds, here. Rain lashing at the windows. Stay safe!

      • You too. We’ve had a lull and managed to get the dog out for a dry walk…… and without coats! The rain doesn’t bother us so much, but the wind can be quite iffy. We’re well secured on double ropes, but our immediate neighbour’s ropes had come loose, so Hubby was out there securing them yesterday before the rain hit as they’re not liveaboards like us and won’t be here for another couple of weeks.

A case of it never rains but it pours? 🙂

  3. I hope for rain, almost every day this summer. ☺
