The Good, The Bad and the Naughty.

I got caught out on this one.
I love quiche, and as Hubby fancied simply soup and a couple of bread rolls for his main meal today, I thought I’d have something I didn’t have to cook for a change. I also bought some beetroot, something I’ve found in the past that I could eat as the pickled variety, but not fresh as it triggered migraine.

SW have a web site and as a member logging in, you can access anything you purchase in the food line to find its syn value. This is excellent for people like me with a sweet tooth, who sometimes compulsively shop, or perhaps get carried away and forget ‘the little things’ in the fanciful line (like pastry).
naughty quiche quiche and carrots
The Good:
Lettuce, sweetcorn, tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, beetroot, salad vinaigrette
The Bad:
Quiche, even though only a small 100g individual serving, attracted a massive 13½ syns.
The good news is that there is a crustless variety which knocks 4 syns off, or I could make my own from one of the SW recipes, or revert to an omelette and throw in the rest.
The Naughty:
I’ve had my meringue and gingernut peach dessert today too.

Ho Hum. Another weekend generating a pullback exercise! Need to rethink my calendar.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    Looks yummy tho! 🙂
Are you not allowed like a ‘cheat day’ once a week or so?

    • No cheat days allowed intentionally, and I didn’t realise how many syns the quiche had until it was too late. I’ll just be extra vigilent between now and next weigh in, and guess my stone and a half certificate will elude me for another week.
