We’ve been invited up to MSM (Maggie’s surrogate Mummy) for another scrabble evening.
Hubby has discovered 101 acceptable 2 letter words, so we’ve listed them and will take them with us. MSM already had some on a card, so we can add to it for her. We’ve also put a list in our box.
I love word games, and used to enjoy the ‘Sun Dial’ in one paper and Target in another, where you have nine letters and have to make as many as possible with the one in the centre. There is at least one nine letter word to be found, and letters can only be used once, unless of course there are duplicates in the word itself.
TV had a show called Countdown which was mainly 9 letters chosen at random, two numbers games and a conundrum at the end. I liked those too. It’s one of the few things I missed when we didn’t have TV, but then the format and presenters changed, and it wasn’t the same anyway.
Orientals and Relations are anagrams of each other, but there are many three or four letter words to be found using the letters here. This is not a challenge, but feel free to have a go.
Pick your own letter as your ‘core’, set a target for the number of words, and have some fun with the family!
Do you play words with friends?
We go up and play with the lady we house sat for, who has become a friend since we moved here. It’s just the three of us, a couple of bags of nibbles and endless cups of tea.
Sounds good.
It’s good fun and we have a lot of laughs.
I have never heard of these games – but I do love word games! This one sounds quite fun!
If Hubby and I play scrabble here, we always go for a best joint score. Our house rule was that if it was in our dictionary, it was allowed. Sadly we no longer have a dictionary!
A dictionary and boat life would not seem to work together. You could always just use the one on the computer – type it into a word document, and if it comes up as a word, it works!
Ah, indeed we could, but the idea is that by playing scrabble (or cribbage or any other game we have now) the computers are turned off.
That wouldn’t work at all, then!
I could cheat and get away with it though perhaps……….. hehehe
If only you’d had a smart phone while the other was in the shop – you could have cleaned up!
