A New Candle

We went to the Abbey today to light a candle for our friend in The Lady Chapel.
We actually lit four, one each for our Dads, and put two others in between them for her and her late husband.

In case you are lost in the dark,
We light a candle for you
To show you the path
To Peace and Serenity.
This simple flickering light
Means Darkness is never total,
Spirits will guide you
To what some may call Heaven.
Do not worry,
The Light will lead the way
To somewhere better, cleaner,
Where you are whole.
Be not afraid of the unknown,
Follow the Light
To join your loved ones long passed,
United again in a new world.
Be surrounded by candlelight,
Each a thought and a wish
From those who care and are waiting
For when they too will make their journey.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

As part of the Flashback trends for posts on specific days of yesteryear, I’m reblogging this.
The lady in question was the sister of an acquaintance, and like my own sibling and I, you couldn’t wish to meet two more different individuals.
It’s hard to believe she passed away four years ago now.
