River Trip 2016: Offenham Afternoon Siesta

It was so hot, I stripped off and decided to put my head down for a couple of hours.
I awoke just after three to find myself alone on board and contemplated the ceiling.

The inside of our boat is beech wood, and the grain is quite lovely.
I wrote this and took a picture. Hopefully you’ll see what I did:

Dancing forms around a tree,
Arms aloft, voices high,
Stretching they sway to the rhythm
Paying homage to the sky.
Mouths an ‘O’ as they chant,
Hips swinging to a basic tune,
Patterns in a grain of wood,
I see them…… but, can you?

About pensitivity101

Retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination, loves to cook, favourite food everything especially chocolate and jelly babies. Best friends are Hubby and Dog, Bro, MSM and our Dominoes Friend aka MOH (and his dog). Also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours but times change and we are once again house hunting.
