Stratford is OFF

They didn’t come.
They didn’t ring.
They didn’t write.
So we don’t know when the repair is going to be carried out.

Sadly, the river festival is therefore off our agenda this year, yet in an obtuse way, we’re relieved.

The weather today is atrocious. Although the water level is in the green, the wind has been blowing us about like a bobbing apple at Halloween, so we would have been very exposed out on the water, and mad to attempt the journey.
Although our ticket isn’t refundable,  as a courtesy we have let the organisers know we won’t be coming so that they can allocate our space to someone else.

There is some good news though.
It has been confirmed that the repair should be covered by our warranty, but just in case it’s not, we are covered by our insurance, so that has taken some of the uncertainty out.

We are of course disappointed.
buntingNever mind. We have our bunting and had intended to buy a disposable BBQ which we can still do, so maybe we’ll have our own ‘festival’ here.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Nothing like a totally self-indulgent private BBQ!!!! 🙂

  2. Awwww! Perhaps if you had to miss it, with the weather, this is the year.

  3. Who needs those crowds anyway? A nice, private BBQ sounds nice to me.
