Soggy Doggy

I don’t mind the rain these days, unless it prevents us from taking her ladyship out for a wee then it becomes a bit of a game.
Last night, it was just gentle showers until Hubby went up to the shower block without a coat and it started to pour five minutes later. Maggie then got restless, the peaches and fresh veg of the day started to work for me, so donning TWO showerproof coats and putting Maggie’s little jacket on her, I clattered up the pontoon.
Hubby was just coming out as I reached the summit of the gantry, so I told him to go into the laundry room and wait for me. Maggie had an immediate pee, so that was half the problem dealt with.
I semi stripped, went and sorted myself out, and then the three of us dripped back to the boat together. Actually, it wasn’t too bad, but no sooner had we zipped up and secured ourselves in for the night, the rain really started.

It’s kept up all night, and here we are just a little short of midday and it’s still going.
Hubby has been an ace and taken Maggie up for the morning business, donning waterproof leggings as well as the jacket.
punkWhen he got back, Maggie was sporting a punk hairdo, so I towelled her dry first and then got the hairdryer out.
Obviously the boat hums a bit of damp dog, so we’ve got the doors open front and back and the windows as far as possible. At least the condensation has dispersed, and it’s not exactly cold. The sun is trying to clear the clouds, but the rain is persistent, however, looking at the radar picture, it looks promising in about half an hour.

Monday today so we have the usual bits to do, though I had hoped to have a shower (could stand outside with my gel I suppose) and do the weekly washing. Perhaps not.
daffy duckHubby has requested McCheese for his dinner today. I shall have some of the pasta with a sprinkling of grated cheese and a couple of boiled eggs on my salad with a jacket potato.
Weigh in tomorrow. I have no idea how I’ve done, though C says my trousers look baggier. This could be because they’ve stretched a bit rather than me shrinking (and are now in the wash).

Note:
suddenly I am bathed in light from a yellow orb in the sky. Better get organised and make a run for it before it all starts again!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
