I’ve got nothing to wear!

This has got to be one of the oldest statements us females make when it come to special occasions.
For me though, it’s literally true, as smartening myself up means jeans and a diamante necklined tee-shirt from twenty odd years ago.

Our mechanics friend got married yesterday, and although there was no reason for us to be invited to the wedding, had we been, I would have had a problem.
I do not own a frock of any description, and the few skirts I do have from my working days are vacuum sealed under the bed.
I have no ‘nice’ tops to wear with said skirts, and even worse, no suitable SHOES to wear with a skirt!
The only hats I own are a benny hat, a fisherman’s hat and a western hat.

outfitIt must therefore be every man’s nightmare to have to attire his spouse for a Special Day from head to toe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

But just think… dressed like that, at any function, but probably make you the most comfortable women there! πŸ™‚

“Hm” may indicate that para phrasing is necessary!

When the other women would be complaining about their shoes, skirts, tops or whatever they were wearing simply to be fashionable, you would be feeling really at home in your best jeans, t-shirt and runners! πŸ™‚

      • Ah, thank you for clarifiying!
I remember all too well the Ex husband’s firm dos and being over dressed on one (posh frock whilst everyone else was in casuals) and underdressed on the other (smart trousers when everyone esle was dripping diamonds and furs)!

  2. I always feel that a lady needs at least one posh frock and comfy matching shoes.
    After all you never know.
Prince Charming (or Hugh Jackman) may drop by for a cup of tea one day.

I struggle with the thought everyday. My preference goes to a comfy breathable jeans and a t-shirt, plus a pair of trekkers or sneakers. Viola, am good to go.
