Oops, forgot the sticky end

I am a twit. I mean seriously.
The weather was about to change, so I thought I’d take Maggie up for a quick wee before the skies opened and the downpour started.
I met Tuppy and her mummy doing the same thing, so we thought we’d have a chin and walk the dogs along the dog walk, sit on the bench for a spell and then walk back.
It was the first time for both of us since the heavy rains and rising water levels.

left a bit, or just a bit left!

Oh Sh!t.
I had forgotten just how sticky the grass is with sycamore seeds again. I thought it was only in the damn autumn!
When we got back, Hubby was not pleased with me as poor Maggie had to have a foot bath. I hope Tuppy is OK , as being a toy poodle, getting the damn things out could be a right game.
Luckily, we still have the medicated antibacterial shampoo, so test driving our new bucket (not one with our plants in, we have flowers on our tomatoes by the way!), Hubby set about cleaning in between her toes and pads. The seeds and sticky sap would drive her crazy enough to lick her feet raw if we didn’t deal with it immediately. In some instances, it was easier to cut the fur away, so her feathers are looking a little crew cut.
I hung my head in shame by the cooker.

Later, my head was hanging almost to my knees with the soulful look she gave me from the bench.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Awwwwwwwwww. I’m sure you’re far less of a twit than I…..I’m always doing things to get that baleful look from the beagles.

Aw, not fair when a nice planned dog walk turns out like this. Never mind, all sorted in the end 🙂
