Jim over at memoriesofatime has kindly nominated me for the Liebster Award.
I’m not really one to partake in such things, but I’m experimenting a little to be honest.
Like Jim, I thought about it for a couple of days before deciding to accept, so here goes:
RULES FOR THE LIEBSTER AWARD
If nominated for the award, and accept, write a blog post about the award in which you
Thank the blogger who nominated you with a link back to his/her blog
Display the award on your blog
Answer 11 questions asked by the nominator
Nominate 5-11 other bloggers
Create 11 new questions for the nominees
Supply 11 random facts about yourself
List these rules on your post.
After publishing your post, inform the nominees of their nomination providing a link to your blog so that they can learn about it.
(Note: if not sure about any of these, do what I did and back track a couple of nominators)
Jim’s 11 questions:
Who is the most important person in your life today?
This has got to be Hubby. He is my rock, keeps me sane though he can drive me nuts at times, but he makes me laugh and still surprises me after 27 years.
Have you seen a good movie lately?ย What made it good?
We bought Mockingjay Part 2, the final part in the Hunger Games series to complete our set. It was nice to see the Dictators get their comeuppance!
Did your schooling connect to your life?
I hated grammar school, and feel it did me no favours by stripping me of my confidence.
I was told I didn’t have the brains to work in a bank and ended up as a financial analyst for an International one!
What makes you angry?
Politicians and anyone who hurts animals.
For what in your life do you feel most grateful?
My natural gift for music, even though I don’t own a piano anymore.
For a person you loved deeply, would you be willing to move to a distant country knowing there would be little chance of seeing your friends or family again?
Yes. This had already been considered, but we are too old, not qualified, and broke!
What is your most treasured memory?
I have two.
One was arriving in Central Station in Amsterdam on our honeymoon in 1991 and the organ music starting to play just as we came out. It was a magical moment for me announcing my arrival in a foreign country for the first time in my life.
The second was holding my Dad’s hand when he died, knowing he wasn’t alone and surrounded by those who loved him.
Which sex do you think has it easier in your culture?
Tough one this. I don’t think either sex has anything easy in any culture these days.
What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?
Probably going to NZ on my own in 2010 to see my brother.
Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as your dinner guest?
James Stewart, one of my favourite actors of all time.
What do you like best about your life?
At the moment, it’s simple, basic and totally laid back. Although I had serious doubts, buying the boat and living on it has been a good thing for me.
I have chosen the following six nominees at random

If you could change any one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Would you like to be some form of celebrity, and if so, who/what?
Do you believe in reincarnation and if so, what would you like to come back as?

What was the best thing you did for someone else?
If you were a Superhero, what would your special power(s) be?
