Roses are red, violets are blue,
I’ve hidden the boxes of chocolates from you.
To help with your diet, at least for a day,
We’ll eat them tomorrow, whadaya say?
We may be slower and no longer young
But remember the time when We Two became One.
Over the years, you have always been mine,
So I have no need for this ‘Valentine’.
Our life together has been hit and miss,
But we have plenty on which to reminisce.
We’re older now, but still best of friends,
And passion is written on paper with pens.
Our secrets are rosy, come share this wine,
Sit here with me, and remember the time
When violets were blue and roses were red,
And we burnt off those calories together in bed.

I had to smile at this …. because so many of your Followers (I suspect) are going to be able to relate to at least a number of the aspects noted! 🙂
Thanks Colin. I hope some of my other readers smile too. Romance isn’t just for the young is it. 🙂
Romance just for the young……..absolutely not. It takes on much broader meanings as we get older. 🙂
I can relate. Thanks for the smile today.
Glad to oblige! 😀
Oh, this was just great! I love it!
Glad you liked it Sarah. Seems this one made quite a few people smile, which is great as it’s such a miserable day today.
It’s sunny here. You just have to ignore that the temperature is something absurdly cold. I think I might choose miserable and somewhat warmer over this!
Loved it.
Thanks Puti. X
