Sunshine After the Rain

I liked quite a lot of Elkie Brook’s music, and this was one of my favourites from 1977.

Recently, songs have come to mind and I’ve generated a post around the title.

Just like today!

It is so hard to believe the weather after the winds and rain of Gertrude’s temper hit the UK.
We have had glorious sunshine, and I mean, Summer standard glorious, and if it hadn’t been for the wind chill, you could easily have thought it was June!

We have therefore been very productive as the sun has brought out the best in us, and so not only did we do our boat maintenance, but also some shopping and taken Maggie for a 2 mile walk.

Stew ingredients were required for our meals this evening and tomorrow, together with a still warm cob loaf for dunking. Yum. Oh the simplicity of life sometimes  🙂

It’s supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow but with just a shower or two, so we are thinking of getting up early and going down to see my Mum as we haven’t seen her since before Maggie’s op.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
