Minus two degrees last night according to the weather site.
Yep, I can vouch for that.
We had ice on the kitchen window……… inside……… this morning.
The pontoon was like polished glass and what grass is visible was crunchy underfoot.
Hubby was not impressed when Maggie legged it away in front of him to be confronted by a collie of the not-so-docile-and-pleasant variety. Her foot has healed over nicely but that’s the second morning she’s run off, and we can’t say it’s because she’s desperate for the loo, though she does perform more or less immediately.
Sorry Girl, but you are shortly going to be attached to an extension lead whilst we’re on the marina grounds now.
On the other hand (paw), Tuppy is off to the hairdresser today to be ‘fluffed and puffed’ as they say. Being a poodle, this is a regular occurrence whatever the season.
Unfortunately, Tuppy is ‘fashion conscious’, and will not wear any of her winter jackets, let alone walk in one, after the parlour event, even when it’s freezing cold.
We remember when they first arrived and how Tuppy wouldn’t walk on the pontoon so had to be carried. That was of course until we Tuppy Sat and made her walk at least some of the way. It took a while, but over the next few days if we were walking up with Maggie, Tuppy was encouraged to walk with her so she eventually got the idea.
We also remember Tuppy’s little safety jacket for the boat on our trip to Stratford and how she was referred to as ‘a living handbag’ because she is so tiny, she could be lifted up by the handles! (Images from google)
Methinks our friends are going to have unnatural protrusions in their outdoor attire for a while.
Aw, poor Maggie. But at least she’ll be safer with that extension leash. We recently had to put Cody into one of those nose collars because she was pulling too much. She hates it, but the walks are much easier and more enjoyable now.
We had to do that for Barney and wish we’d done it much earlier as it became a pleasure to walk him instead of a battle of wills!
