Olympic Hurdles Try Out

It was terrifying for her when she first arrived and she had to be carried to and from the boat to do her business.
We were often in hysterics in the evenings hearing her owner telling her to ‘Come on’ with as much encouragement as he could muster as she simply sat on the deck and looked at him.
tuppy 2You may well remember Tuppy, a cute four year old toy poodle we looked after one day for our new friends. I confess that although I did carry her at first, it was only part of the way when I took the dogs out to do their business, and by the end of the day, I had her walking half way along the pontoon.

She’s come a long way since then, and now walks both up and down the pontoon decks, but there are a few ‘little obstacles’ in her way.
It’s hilarious to watch her: she’ll be trotting along, then will stop, go down on her front legs, raise her back and rush the next few steps to launch herself over the chasm.
Pictures say more than words, so here you go.

Lift off and over

For such a little dog, it’s like us jumping over this in comparison!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
