I have seen similar posts from other bloggers pop up in my reader and now the gauntlet has been thrown to me!
Oh my.
Whilst I don’t usually participate in nominations (nothing personal, just a ‘me’ thing), I do post something every day, so I thought, OK, just this once.
I’m slightly confused though as to whether it should be my own photos and if each post should be a poem, as going backwards there is some variation of title.
So, without further ado, here is my first effort, a poem to go with one of my photos.
Mr Heron was slightly miffed,
He’d had it on good authority
That there would be a pile of fish
At the end of this very jetty.
A lazy bird, he’d long worked out
There was no need to swim,
Why make an effort, when he could wait
For the fish to come to him.
Now the opportunity
Had come for him to steal
The remnants of someone else’s catch
To provide his evening meal.
Mocking him from the water’s edge,
He was dismayed to find
His ‘Heavenly Plaice’ was the name of a boat,
Not fish of the edible kind.
Thanks Johnny Ojanpera for the challenge.
The rules are as follows: “Post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”
My nominee for today is Kate Views and Mews by Coffee Kat 🙂
(hope you don’t mind)
Nice poem!
Thanks!
Thanks for accepting. I thought since you take pictures and write that it would fit into the schedule. 🙂
Hope so!
Wow what a great and amusing poem Di. I love it xx
Thanks. It was a fun write and Mr Heron was very much the opportunist!
