Nope, nothing to do with Jon Secada’s hit from 1992. I bought ‘Angel’ on a cassette years later and this was on the B side, though I think both were considered ‘A’s.
Anyway, today is just another day, except I am one year older and need a bigger extinguisher.
When I woke up it was raining.
Not the horrible torrential stuff of a couple of days ago, just a gentle smattering of pattering raindrops on the roof with its unique melody.
Hubby got up and left me to have a lie in (special day and all that).
A good hour’s snooze later and the rain had stopped so he took the dog out.
I stretched and got up, padded about in my bunny slippers and did the usual things every morning brings.
The rain started again, and I thought oops. Hubs is not going to be happy caught out in it, though I knew he’d taken the backpack of waterproofs, so he’d be OK.
I was pleasantly surprised when he got back laden down with breakfast!
And a card.
And flowers.
Also he and the dog were both dry as he’d taken the car to do his shopping and she had performed when requested during a dry bit.
Bacon rolls and latte coffee started the day off brilliantly (and no washing up, yay!!).
The card made me feel young and carefree (he couldn’t find a ’60 minus 1′, so opted for 21 and wrote ‘again’ on the front).
The flowers……. a bunch of ten roses of various colours (payday yesterday) .
And there were more to come:
You had to be there……………..
Note:
We walked the same route on The Malverns afterwards, then went for a carvery on the way home (no washing up again, double yay!!).
Just love those swaths of bluebells!
They are fabulous aren’t they. We just came round a corner and there they were. Luckily the lay-by opposite the woods was empty so we were able to stop and take some photos. We weren’t the only ones to do so as four other vehicles followed suit. Hubby says it’s a popular place and he wanted me to see it.
Happy Birthday! Glad you had a lovely day and were spoilt rotten! 🙂
thanks!
Sounds like an altogether lovely birthday! Happy Birthday! 🙂
I had a smashing day, spoilt rotten and loved to pieces. Can’t get any better!
Happy Birthday – and those bluebells are gorgeous!
There were certainly a wonder to behold
