As promised

Coming back from town this morning, we walked Maggie along the lock,
lock normal 2where we saw our first group of ducklings, so as promised here are some photos for you.

Whether the white trio here are ‘responsible’ for this little family we don’t know. We have noticed these particular three are always together though.
white ducksIf we understand how to tell the difference between the sexes, these are actually 2 males and a female, so probably not.

My photos aren’t all that clear, but aren’t these little darlings cute?

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. I love, love, love ducklings!! I have yet to see any myself this year – this is a little teaser for me!

    • We haven’t seen any here in the marina yet, though a friend at the end of our pontoon has, and said it was quite a significant number.

      • I always wonder how some of the moms do it – when you see them wandering around with 15 or 16 ducklings! I always wonder if they all belong to that particular mom – I can’t imagine they do, but if so, that’s some sort of parenting!
