We are quite well known on the Marina now, and with it being a four day Bank Holiday weekend over Easter, things are getting busy and the car park is almost full.
I was glad I went up to the shower block early as by the time I was using the hairdryer, the other two cubicles were occupied, and there was a queue beginning for the third.
Hubby was doing the washing next door, so we are now all up straight with the domestic side and can enjoy a trip up river if we so wish.
Several of our boating friends have recently changed vessels, so I have amended my ‘address book’ accordingly, including one of the original entries with the new owners names against it.
A couple on our pontoon have moved on, their intentions being to enjoy a short canal trip, then back to their new base where they will take possession of their new boat, built to their own specifications. Naturally, they are very excited about it, having documented the whole procedure from day one.
Another acquaintance started to re-jig his boat last autumn, but hit a couple of snags and having spent the colder months in his property, is now in the process of starting again.
Two berths down, our mechanics friend has just completed blacking and painting his boat in a shipyard several miles away, and across the way another couple’s boat will soon be returned to its berth after being painted. They have been away visiting family across the country in a camper van for three weeks.
It’s a beautiful day now after a dodgy start. Tomorrow promises to be hot and sunny, so we will probably take the boat out and enjoy the relaxing scenery.
Life in the slow lane! Wonderful!
You bet!
Sounds like a lovely day – to meander up the river in your boat 🙂
We didn’t go today as we got engrossed in other things and it was soon a bit late, but all being well, we’ll be out tomorrow.
Cool 🙂
You are definitely having a charmed life there. I feel a leisurely cruise would fix me right up!
