What’s not to love?

Aren’t they adorable?
We saw an adult version this morning occupying the entire back of a pick up truck.
The owner, a woman about our age, was taking her dog to work, and as she used to berth a boat here, the Manager has allowed her to park her car and walk her dog to the relevant workplace just around the corner.

How can you not love a face like this? Full of personality and soppiness.
This gentle giant stepped out of the truck and ambled over to say hello.
Coming almost to my waist, he was a leaner, and I could bury my hands completely in his fur. With feet like dinner plates and weighing in at over 11 stone (154lbs/ 70kg) he dwarfed Maggie who was sulking having been left in the car.
A truly magnificent animal, the gentlest of giants.

This is a Leonberger.
And his work?

A therapy visiting dog, on his way to the local nursing home.
All pictures from Google, thank you for having such a wonderful selection.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
The dogs are great and the pictures will be nice to remember them.

They are gorgeous aren’t they. We’d never seen a leonberger until we met our last vet and this face just appeared over the counter! Beautiful animal, and such a softie!
The first time I have seen one. At one time I knew the breeds but not any longer.
I love dogs . We have seen some interesting crossbreeds too, the best has to be a bassett hound cross shar pei, very odd!
