When purchasing certain things for the boat, Hubby goes Mail Order with a nationwide company, though we discovered a fortnight ago that their distribution centre is only about 30 miles down the road.
Since purchasing Fred, we have ordered a few other things and delivery has always been prompt and efficient.
In fact, when placing his last order, Hubby was asked how Fred was getting on.
Brother Barry has now flown the nest and is in pastures new by all accounts.
We had sent the promised photo of Fred in situ surveying the Marina with a bar of chocolate at his feet, or should I say talons.
We had our first Christmas Card today, which I would class as only our second ‘personal’ mail since our arrival here in July.
Although addressed to Hubby on the envelope, it included Fred and his new family on the greeting within, and was signed (with little witticisms) by all members of staff at the depot.
Apparently our emails make them smile, and they have advised us that Fred likes a little tipple of port on Christmas Eve.
Their card has certainly made our day.
It feels good to know that we are more than account details on a database and for us, we feel our orders are handled on a personal basis.
I don’t think there is anything we need at the moment, but somehow I feel we will be having a little field trip in the next week or so with some Christmas goodies.
Good PR works both ways.
haha I like that Fred got a Christmas greeting 🙂
