Putting my foot in it

Anyone who has read any of my blog entries will know we have a dog.
Hopefully, readers will also know that we are conscientious owners who take care of our pet, her welfare, her diet, exercise, and her excrement.

There is a dog walk here.
It follows the line of the marina basin and is a haven for rabbits and the occasional squirrel.
Dogs are allowed to run off lead.
We walk it at least 5 times a day.
The marina staff provide bags and a metal dustbin specifically for dog waste.
There is a sign that says PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG.

dog wasteIt is also in the mooring contract.
It is on the notice board at the foot of the marina office.

Sadly, there is always ONE who does not comply.
And yesterday, I put my foot in their dog’s sh!t.
I was not amused. In fact, I was furious.
I was wearing my new trainers, the ones with the lovely deep tread to stop me slipping on the gantry.
The smelly deep tread now filled with someone elses dog’s sh!t.

no
I’ve had enough.
I am a connoisseur of dog poo, and I have seen your dog do the deed.
I can therefore identify it.
I know who you are.
I have already cleared up three of your dog’s deposits as it was right where we walk early in the morning and at night.

One morning, you are going to find a nice surprise on your poo-p deck.
Whether I leave it in the bag or not will depend on my mood.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    hahaha Good for you! 🙂

    • OOOh, I am so tempted! I saw the female half of the owner today who walks the offending mutt on a lead as it never comes back when called. Even though he squats at the end of it, she also turns the other way!

Yes do it! Back in Sydney this was my pet peeve (so to speak). There was one gentleman who had two dogs and he would walk down our street each evening and chose a different garden for his dogs to poop in. Smart I guess but I hated him so much!

Here in Turkey there is poop everywhere. I have the only dog that goes on a lead and I am the only deli yabanci (crazy foreigner) who picks up the poop.

    Pick up your poop peeps!
