Tired Doggy

Our girl is shattered.
She is curled up alongside me with her nose buried in Grandad’s lap, toes tucked under her chin, giving it ZZZZzzzzzs.
Yesterday, we travelled a fair distance and due to the day’s activities, she didn’t get her beauty sleep during the day.
9sWhilst we were playing dominoes with our friend though, she curled up against my handbag using it as a cushion and got forty odd winks.
She was quiet in the car on the drive home, but it wasn’t until we actually got back inside the boat that she fell asleep, and slept through until well after 7am.

She’s had lots of little walks today and because Hubby and I have been doing different things, perhaps she was feeling a little out of sorts because we weren’t together.
It’s also hot and muggy this evening, so we are all a little uncomfortable and can’t have the windows or doors open as the bugs come in and we’ll all be eaten alive!

Almost time for her final walk and business now, then we’ll all snuggle down for the night.
She’s eaten well, and is drinking OK, plus her nose is cold and her eyes bright, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong.
Just like us though, she doesn’t travel well these days, and it takes a couple  of days to get back to normal.
Bless her.

Very old picture this (no longer have the lamp, the bedside table, the bed, the bedding, or the house) !

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
