Would you believe that at the end of last week we had to put our heating on as it had got so cold?
Fast forward seven days, and I’m melting.
I’ve just checked the temperature indoors and at 10.30pm it’s 22.5 degrees.
We’ve had the fan going all afternoon, but it’s still so stuffy.
Last year, it reached 39 degrees in our conservatory, so we kept the kitchen door shut and didn’t go out there.
It’s not that I suffer from hay fever or anything, I just don’t like the heat.
After all, when you’re cold, you can keep adding layers.
When you’re hot, once you’ve stripped everything off, if you’re still hot there’s nothing left to remove.
It’s OK padding round your own property in the altogether if you’re that way inclined, but what to do when you’re out? I confess I have been known to hover in the freezer department of the supermarket for longer than is necessary, and on one occasion I nearly climbed in!
