And Balls to You too!

We had a smashing walk in the woods this morning.
As part of our ‘getting back to the routine’ we decided to take the long route down to the bottom and then pick up the inner track before making our way back to the car.

In our efforts to avoid the multitude of doggy souvenirs (there are no bins here, and although some people clear up after their pets, most don’t) we were intrigued to notice several small particles of a blue ‘something or other’ scattered along the pathway. They varied in size and frequency, but as we progressed, we felt like Hansel and Gretel following a trail of candy breadcrumbs.

They didn’t lead us anywhere in particular which was a little disappointing. Then suddenly, these blue fragments were replaced with purple, and then green.
We wondered if we’d come across yellow or red, but were pretty soon back to blue.
Eventually the mystery was solved as we discovered the remains ‘dead’ in the undergrowth.

Dog Balls.
Not the reproducing kind, not tennis balls, but the rubber foamy kind.ballsThe kind dogs love to chase, chew on, chew up and spit out.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
