Mini Haha

My first car was a 1965 Mini, similar to the one below. A cute little car, just right having just passed my test. Nippy and cheeky to park, just a shame the engine blew after about a month.

Some 36 years (and several cars) later, I now drive a 2005 Peugeot 206 1.4 Hdi diesel like this model.

Lovely car, economical to run, reliable, bought new and has only just clocked up 34000 miles.

Length 151 in            3835mm

Width 65 in               1652mm

Wheelbase 96.1 in    2442mm

Today, I was a passenger in my own car, and one like this parked alongside me. I wouldn’t normally have noticed, but

a) it was bigger than mine and
b) the driver nearly hit me

Width 70.4in                 1789 mm – exc. mirrors

Height 61.5in                1561 mm

This, Dear Readers, is a Mini Cooper Countryman.

Mini? Ha ha. Not as I remember them!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
