My First Post

Welcome!

This is all totally new to me, but being a bit of a windbag in the letter writing department (my record stands at 67 sides in 1972 to a young soldier who’s probably still trying to read it)  my husband suggested I might enjoy doing this. Letter writing is of course a thing of the past as we all seem to rely on email or text messages. The only mail to hit our mat these days is the bank statement, bills and junk mail flyers for things we neither have, want or need.

Interests are varied and include cooking (some of my best dishes have arisen by  accident, so more on that at a later date),  music (play piano but can’t read a note),  reading (Reacher is HOT) and the dog, which in turn leads to long walks in the woods and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature at its most unspoiled. I have also penned the odd short story, several based on our collection of teddy bears.

We have lived in a semi rural environment for the past six years and have come to enjoy the benefits of growing our own veg,  keeping chickens for a while (another story) and taking great pleasure watching the birds coming into the garden and rearing their young.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    Today I am FOUR!
This was my first post. Times have changed somewhat as I am no longer a Reacher fan, have no piano, and have a veg patch in waiting.!

A very nice and friendly first post. 🙂

  5. So that’s how it all began. Thanks for sharing, and I keep wanting to use your name after all this time, but it’s hard to find evidence on your blog. I seem to remember something like Roberta ? Or am I imagining that ??? Any way, congrats on 4 years.

    • Hi Van. Close on the name thing! Convinced I was going to be a boy, I was to be called Robert, and was always grateful my parents didn’t add an ‘a’ on the end when I made my appearance in 1956. Not expecting a girl, a name hadn’t been picked, so Mum chose one out of the book she was reading about a girl and her horse. Luckily I wasn’t named after the filly! The name’s Diana by the way, but my friends call me Di (some bloggers also call me Pen, which I don’t mind), so please do likewise.
